Near Field Communication (NFC) uses short range wireless signals to communicate with an NFC tag. With the required programming and integration, this feature enables homeowners to turn off all of the rooms in their system, lock the front door and close the garage door by simply driving away. Geofencing enables users to trigger macros based on the geographical location of a URC Mobile 2.0 device. Additionally, the programmer can set up to two active responses to each push notification. “Front door is unlocked” and “Living room thermostat is set to 80 degrees” are examples of push notifications. With push notifications, users receive pop up messages on their iOS and Android devices through the URC Mobile 2.0 app. Push notifications, geofencing and NFC macros are professionally programmed by trained, authorized URC Total Control 2.0 dealers. They will be made available in the URC Accelerator 2.0 software via live update. These new features will function as part of the URC Mobile 2.0 app for iOS and Android devices. At noon today, URC will launch push notifications, geofencing and NFC macros (Android only) for Total Control 2.0.
